Weights

Before you order a trailer, you should be aware of the weights. Therefore, by all means, take a look at the table.
If we hear otherwise from you, we build your trailer as follows:

Please also make note of: Especially Motor Gilders often becomes much accessories carried in trailers – we have 150 kg, including 35 kg of ballast weighed lead! Just for self-launching planes, two-seaters and open class a max. permissible total weight of 1600 kg can be quite useful.

Consider:

  • How much can my car pull?
  • How much is possible with my driving license?

Only the weights listed in the table are free of extra charge. Other desired weights require a technical individual unit verification for costs.

Important:

The real weight should be preferably close to the permissible total weight. The overrrun braking system and the suspension worked only in this case ideal.

  • Good:real weight 900 kg, permissible total weight 1000kg
  • Bad:real weight 1000 kg, permissible total weight 1300kg

A too strong axle on a light trailer is causing a stubborn suspension and overrun behavior – the trailer moves uncomfortably. Please therefore avoid high excess reserves! The admissible total weight can be exploited fully permanently! Also, tires and axles are permanently full strength!
According to the latest European directive for vehicle construction, there are two classes of vehicles for glider trailers:

 

O1 for trailers with a admissible total weight up to 750 kg.

Our trailer for standard 15 m class weighs blank about 462 kg plus potential special accessories like wing tip fixture, wing handles, et cetera.The vehicle load capacity of 280 kg is therefore sufficient for gliders of the first generation and advanced ultralight gliders.

If you think to buy a different, heavier glider (such as a motor glider), this will not be transporting it in this trailer.

Remark: We have no EU type approval for O1 Trailers.

 

O2 for trailers with a admissible total weight from 751 kg up to 3500 kg.

Trailers once typed for a vehicle class can be later never typed into another class of vehicle – not even if you underpinned another axis. Therefore, you should carefully consider for which category you order your trailer.

In tandem trailers (Only class O2) is also a permissible total weight of 1200, 1400 or 1900 kg at all O2 classes possible. The empty weight increase in tandem-trailers about 100 kg. For special sizes, we like to coordinate the optimal permissible weight with you.
